RODIN

Students: Pier Giorgio Raponi (PhD, visiting scholar from SSSUP), Md Shafiqul Hai (M.Eng)

The project RODIN (Réseaux Optiques D’INterconnexion extensibles à haute efficacité énergétique - Energy-efficient and scalable optical interconnection networks) is a high-relevance project between Italy and Québec carried out in collaboration with Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, Pisa.

RODIN aims at exploring the photonic switching technologies applied to interconnection networks in order to overcome the limitations of electronics in term of transmission rates, wiring density, data format transparency and electromagnetic field immunity. The project challenge is to design high-performance optical interconnection networks and efficient schedulers suitable for the designed architectures. The objectives prefixed are to ensure the scalability and energy efficiency of the optical interconnection networks and schedulers.
